A digital installation to ignite the 2012 Games.
MET was commissioned by EDF to create an iconic installation on London’s City Hall building to showcase their collaboration with the GLA in helping bring the 2012 Olympic Games to life as part of their ‘Own The River’ campaign. The brief was to enhance the fabric of the building to convey this message to a large audience around the city of London and to position EDF as a major sponsor of the 2012 Games.
MET opted to create an animated, digital installation that displayed a series of dynamic activities and events happening inside the GLA building, as if the 2012 Games were being activated from this precise location. A series of large, semi-translucent LED screens were suspended behind the building’s façade to show acrobats leaping, London transport vehicles driving by, and even the Olympic Torch igniting within the heart of the building
MET acted as lead creative consultant, collaborating with Icon, Drive Productions and UVA to bring this iconic vision to life.
