MET ID have worked with print and display-based specialist Leach to refocus and augment their brand identity as the company strengthens its offer for the decade ahead and beyond.
Huddersfield-based Leach were founded in 1891 and made the first life-sized photographic enlargements setting a gold standard for high-quality print that has been a guiding principle for Leach for over a century. Today, they continue to lead display design solutions across retail, commercial interiors, museums, sports, healthcare and education sectors worldwide.
Faced with new challenges and an ever-increasing range of competition, Leach turned to MET ID to refocus the business strategically with a focus on the celebration of colour, and the worlds that are shaped by designers, image-makers and creative practices. Under a new strapline “The World Is Our Canvas”, MET ID formulated the idea of Leach being passionate ‘creative enablers’, trusted by the world’s best to collaborate on the most innovative and exciting projects across the globe.
“It was obvious from our very first meeting that Leach were incredible passionate about what they do, what they offer to their clients and how they deliver the right display solution no matter what”, Darren Lewis, Head of Creative at MET ID, said. “We imagined the idea of Leach bringing colour to a metaphorical global canvas, that of bringing to life their clients’ vision no matter where in the world.”
Pushing the new brand direction further, MET ID augmented the existing Leach visual identity with an animated explosive ‘colour splash’. “Bringing to life this idea of colour on a canvas was central to the new visual motif” Jackson Iredale, Creative Designer at MET ID said. “By crafting a bespoke animated explosion of colour, we were able to integrate this directly into the heart of the Leach logo, resulting in a dynamic motif that brings to life this celebration of colour.”
