Updating interpretation in a magisterial seat of learning for a modern day audience.
MET was engaged by Wellington College, who wished to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. This famous battle, the Duke of Wellington and the College are intrinsically connected, and subsequently MET was asked to renew, reinvigorate and reinterpret the historical significance of the college for a 21st century audience.
As part of a lengthy workshop process, ideas discussed included the integration of mobile applications, commissioned art works and the involvement of the pupils.
The finished works involved alterations to some of the beautiful interiors at the college, requiring sensitive, subtle installations displaying the priceless artefacts within the College’s collection.
